The goal of the Queer Media Database Canada-Québec Project is to establish and maintain a dynamic and interactive online catalogue of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) Canadian film, video and digital works, their makers, and related institutions.
To reach these goals we developed a fully integrated mobile-friendly design alongside the integration and import of existing Queer film data. This included some of the best technologies of Apache Solr searching functionality that makes their site really slick and provides an easy of use for the user. Our efforts resulted in this new website being featured in the Globe and Mail and CBC!
To ensure that their site would be maintained with the latest patches and security fixes we put them on an Aegir platform.
